On August 30, 1781, the Patriots ambushed a large force of British and Loyalist militia changing the course of the American Revolution. Parkers Ferry is the exemplar of Brigadier General Francis Marions guerilla warfare tactics which contribute to the extraordinary legend of the "Swamp Fox".
